About Us

The Sanjay Ghodawat University (SGU) was established as state private university under Government of Maharashtra Act No. XL of 2017 in the academic year 2017-18. The university has been approved by University Grant Commission (UGC) and the Maharashtra government. In a short span of time, SGU has established its credentials and reputation as one of the leading private University in the country.

The global challenges in the health sciences have increased the demand of trained professionals many fold despite the technological developments. Keeping this scenario in mind, the Sanjay Ghodawat University established the School of Allied Health Sciences in the year 2022 with the beginning of three undergraduate academic programs in Food Science & Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology and Optometry. SGU offers full time B. Sc. program in Food Science & Technology and Medical Laboratory technology. These courses provide implementation of value-based knowledge and information to inculcate creativity amongst students for their bright career and future prospective.

The highly experienced and qualified academic staffs are committed to deliver best practices in teaching and cutting-edge research. A well-updated library with all digital resources with vast collection of books, journals (National & International) and educational materials gives enhanced value-addition to our academic programs.

The programs of allied health sciences are designed in such a way that provides excellent academic standards with the industry-based curriculum to meet expectations of emerging needs around the world. The university provides exposure to the industrial environment through industrial visits, industry-academia interactions an organizing industry expert sessions. The skill development program with hands on training and industrial/hospital visit during academic program enhance student personality and knowledge to increase many fold the placement and job opportunities.

The university caters students with advanced technical knowledge and skills to tackle technological and societal challenges in diversified areas. To enhance competency at national and international level, university also creates awareness and supports students for competitive exams like GRE, TOEFEL, IELTS etc.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO):

  • PEO 1 : Graduates will be qualified professionals in Medical Laboratory Technology and pursue career in Government and private diagnostic labs, hospital labs, clinical labs, public health labs, R & D and successful entrepreneurship.
  • PEO 2 : Graduates will have proficiency in discovering newer method of analysis. Conduct various diagnostic tests, instrument calibration and develop new testing kits in field of research.
  • PEO 3 : Graduates will become a successful head of lab by Critical decision-making skills and ensuring the best leadership quality with maximizing profit while leading a diverse and multidisciplinary team and different type of environment.
  • PEO 4 : Graduates will become a fast learner with opportunities to accept the role as a professional, relate to clinical or research, grow personally and adapt to change.
  • PEO 5 : Graduates will contribute significantly in a team through professional competency and along with maintain ethical value.
  • PEO 6 : Graduates will learn the appropriate method of collection of blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary puncture.

  • PO1 : To produce good Lab technologists with skills, competence, and integrity.
  • PO2 : To make it capable of supporting advanced testing activities and Research.
  • PO3 : Perform routine clinical laboratory procedures within acceptable quality control parameters in haematology, Chemistry, Immunohematology, and Microbiology. To enable me to work as a supervisor, trainer, or teacher in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • PO4 : Demonstrate technical skills, social behaviour, and professional awareness incumbent upon a laboratory technician
  • PO5 : Apply systematised problem-solving techniques to identify and correct procedural errors, identify instrument malfunctions and seek proper supervisory assistance, and verify the accuracy of laboratory results obtained.
  • PO6 : Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, utilising appropriate quality control and safety procedures.
  • PO7 : Recognise and participate in activities that will provide current knowledge and upgrade skills in laboratory medicine or health science.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO):

  • PSO 1 : The course will promulgate the students into Medical Lab technologists, academic researchers, and microscopic machinists, which could fabricate the Medical Lab specialists.
  • PSO 2 : To provide thorough knowledge in medical laboratory subjects, including theoretical and practical training, for appropriate continuing education opportunities for medical laboratory professionals. Provide opportunities for technology-enhanced experiential learning in both the classroom and the laboratory.
  • PSO 3 : Prepare graduates who excel as entry-level technologists. Provide a leading-edge educational experience that provides academic depth and breadth to support professional advancement.
  • PSO 4 : To prepare graduates for employment in a variety of settings at the career entry level. To provide an equal opportunity for all the students to become entrepreneurs through various lab visits and internships.
